Flowers with Personality
Pansies are a great flower to plant in early spring. Mine have been coming up in the garden since early April and are blooming right now. We have a wide variety of colors in the greenhouse ready for planting. They are very hardy through the spring cold and frost. And in our area plant them in full sun. During the summer prolong the blooming season by picking off the faded flowers before they set seed pods. You can also pinch leggy stems back 1-2 inches to keep plants neat. Many times the pansies you planted the year before will reappear the next year.

We have beautiful flowering baskets, annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, and primrose. Our mulches, peat moss, top soil, manure, and potting soil are in and ready for your gardening needs. Try putting a 3 inch layer of peat moss over a weeded flower bed. It keeps the weeds down and looks great. When it needs weeding again the peat moss works right into the soil.

Seed Potatoes
We have many varieties of seed potatoes. Including white Kennebec, Chippewa, Russett, and Chieftain, Red Pontiac and Norland, and Yukon Gold. They are .39/lb.

Plant a pot of tea herbs
Use a ceramic pot with a hole or put gravel in the bottom. You will need at least a 21 inch pot that is quite deep. Ceramic is good because the plants won't dry out so qhickly. Use 3 parts potting soil and 1 part compost. Plant upright plants toward the back of the pot first such as German Chamomile, and Rosemary. Add Lemon Balm, GrapefTuit Mint, and Feverfew toward the sides and front. You can also use spearmint, peppermint, or pineapple mint.

German Chamomile- Apple scented foliage, daisy like flowers that when dried make a soothing strong tea.

Lemon Balm- Lemony leaves used in iced drinks, hot tea, fTuit dishes. Trim this plant to keep it in check.

Grapefruit Mint-
Mint foliage with a tangy scent of mint and citrus making a fruity tea.

Feverfew-
Daisy like flowers and lime green leaves. Used in teas for migraine headaches.

TIP
-
Making minty iced tea is easy. Wash 30r 4 sprigs of leaves from any mint or lemon balm. Liquefy them in a blender with 2 cups of water. Let the liquid stand for 30 minutes, and strain through a cheesecloth. Add ice and sweeten as desired. Using unique pots to plant any variety of herbs is a great idea. You can set them on a sunny porch or out your kitchen door. Just make sure you have drainage and don't over plant, the herbs are sure to grow. And remember to fertilize regularly. When using the herb gather the leaves or blooms on dry days in the morning.
